Hey, hey everybody! I’m here to say that we’re doing a second all call for applications! The new deadline will be next Tuesday the 28th. We look forward to receiving them!

I just wanted to make a tiny, to the point post about applications really quick!

I’ve been getting asked about them over on the Trollmegle forums so I figured a sample is the very best way to show you all exactly what needs to be done.

Why are you applying for that/those character(s)?: Terezi has always been the character that I’ve found comes most naturally to me, which I’m sure speaks volumes of how strange and intrusive I am. Much of my time on Trollmegle or in personal logs is spent twisting characters’ words and generally forcing them into situations they don’t want to be in. Once I get going with an imaginary scenario, it’s hard to stop.

Describe your availability: I’m in high school and have a part-time job but I’m generally available for a few hours every single day of the week.

Tell us a little about yourself: I’m a lady-girl, eighteen years old and a senior in high school. My hobbies really only include the internet, cosplay, and the occasional writing/drawing. Depending on who you ask, I either sleep too much or never sleep at all. It’s hard to keep track sometimes! Once I’m done with high school, I’m planning to go to college for fashion design.

Why do you want to join [Blank]stuck: To be perfectly fair, Mr. Application, I think I’m entitled to a position considering I helped create it! C: Obviously, there’s no way for me to answer this while sounding intelligent, so you’re on your own here. Sorry!

Give us a sample of your roleplaying skills: See the bolded examples in the novella that I wrote in the last post. Yours need to look exactly like that and should be at LEAST that long. The more the better, really! Just don’t send us a fanfiction length example, okay? Hahaha~

If selected, which ships would you be interested in seeing play out?: I’m a pretty huge Terezi<3<Vriska fan, not to mention Dave<>Terezi! I’m the most flexible shipper on Earth though, I so won’t be too bummed if they don’t work out.~

Headcanons: My Terezi sometimes gets clumsy when she’s REALLY excited. For example, if running into a room while thrilled about something, she might trip and fall flat on her face.

• Can you be more specific about what you’re looking for in applicants/roleplayers?

Yes we can! In order for you to go on this journey with us, there are a few factors we have no choice but to take into consideration. This is all very important, so try not to skim. I know I’m much too verbose for my own good, sorry!

The number one thing we’re looking for is reliability. You could be the best Sollux/Dave/Eridan/Aradia/etc that we’ve ever seen, but if you can only come around once a week, that’s just not going to work. We completely understand that some of you are in high school (I am, myself), have demanding jobs (like Pepper), or are in college. This is completely okay. We aren’t looking for 24/7 roleplayers! That would be absurd. So I’d really like to stress one major point on this matter:

Do not automatically assume you’re too busy and will not be selected because of this. There’s no way of telling who will get picked unless everyone interested sends in an application.

The second point is obviously how well you play your desired character. There’s not much to say on this topic! We’re looking for quirk accuracy, good spelling and syntax, and literacy. It’s a lot to deal with at once, especially when certain quirks can conflict with the whole grammar thing, but it’s fairly simple.

Any ‘in person’ conversations between characters would be done in the narrative style.

Example time!:

Terezi finally managed to stifle a giggle, now in complete Pretend Mode Overdrive. The nerve of this villain, trying to compete in a battle of wits with her! Well, it was kind of endearing that he was trying. No one usually played along with her antics. 
“Your gall is equal parts impressive and enraging!” She was speaking her most important-sounding and dramatic voice, “Please, no goody bad-doer! I am a famous and important legislacerator! Your inventions cannot interfere with the power of the courts, no matter how vague their purpose may be!!”

In any RP setting that takes place in a chat log while in-universe (Pesterchum, Trollian) it would be with quirks, just like on Trollmegle. No actions involved unless it’s like the kind of roleplaying that Nepeta, Terezi, and Vriska sometimes do.
Another example!:

GC: OK4Y S3R1OUSLY K4RK4T WH3R3 4R3 YOU B3C4US3 1 DONT H4V3 4LL D4Y!
CG: I WAS JUST ABOUT TO LEAVE. HAVE SOME PATIENCE WILL YOU?

CG: GOD, WE’RE JUST DRAWING ON YOUR STUPID TREE. IT’S NOT AS THOUGH WE’RE DOING SOMETHING GROUNDBREAKING.
GC: UH OH, 1 DONT C4R3! SORRY!! JUST G3T OV3R H3R3, 4H4H4
CG: FINE. GEEZ. I’M ON MY WAY.
GC: GOOD!

Now I should just note that our logs usually say CG (calibratedGallows) and CS (caliginousSongstress) so I had to change the initials here for accuracy. So obviously longer logs played on Pesterchum would be muuuuch easier if your chumhandle had the same initials as your characters. None of this is mandatory, obviously. It just makes life easier!

• Can you tell us just a liiiitle more about the selection process?

There’s not much more to tell, but sure! We’ll be ready for your applications on November 15th, so we highly suggest you begin work on them now, especially if you’re applying for multiple characters. We’ll require a small sample of your skills for each, so keep that in mind! That being said, you’re more than welcome to link whole logs, copy and paste a small section of a log, or come up with an original example on the spot. At least one of your examples should be narrative style.

This means if you’re applying for just, say, Vriska, you’ll need two examples. One chat log style and one narrative. If you’re applying for Vriska AND Rose, there should be chat log examples of both but you need only write a narrative example for one of them. Three examples in all! Not too hard to understand, right? Uh. R-Right? C:

Once we’ve made our selections (which we hope to do within a two days or so after the 15th), we’ve decided to make three posts for the ‘casting’ over the course of one day. The first post will be the Kids. The second will be High Bloods. The third will, obviously, be Low Bloods. Dramatic, isn’t it?

The drama doesn’t end there! This is especially important, so remember it! If selected, you have TWO DAYS to confirm your spot. If you don’t, we’ll replace you with another applicant!

• So, what if I’m not chosen? What then?!

Well, providing you don’t wish death upon us at that point, we’re encouraging everyone to state in their applications whether or not they’d be interested in being kept informed of any dropouts or sudden MIA roleplayers. As much as we’d like to keep all of our first picks, we know that’s unrealistic. So don’t worry! You may not have been picked simply because someone who was on par with you skill-wise happened to have more days available! If they go AWOL, you’d easily be able to take their place. See? We aren’t entirely heartless!

• That’s great, UO, but where will these sessions be taking place? You never told us!!

Uh, fair enough. After some consideration, Pepper and I decided that we’ll be setting up a forum. This is where things get sliiiightly complicated. As you are probably aware, chat logs would NOT lend themselves well to that setting. Because of this, we’ve decided that chat log conversations should take place off-site because of the sheer volume of text and effort between the parties involved.

The easiest way to achieve this is through Pesterchum or Skype, so I’d highly suggest you download both if your computer can run them in order to accommodate other roleplayers. Help us help you, help us help yoooou~

Once these logs are done, one of the people involved would post it to the appropriate section of the forum. I promise it’s simpler than it sounds!

As for the kids, whose conversations take place exclusively in chat logs, don’t worry! We don’t plan on having the session be pre-scratch for too long. And in the mean time, we’ll obviously have a place on the forum strictly for silly antics that won’t relate to our ‘canon’, so it all works out! Kid roleplayers won’t have to feel like they’re outcasts or anything!

I’ll be perfectly honest. This novella has barely scratched the surface of all the information we’ll have to offer eventually! I’d be glad to answer more questions at any time, but this is most of the information necessary until after the 15th. Get to work on your applications and be sure to refer others over here! I absolutely cannot wait to hear from you!

Hi again, guys!

I’m pretty thrilled that we’re drumming up interest already (tell your friends!), but Pepper and I juuust noticed we actually never informed anyone of a way to contact both of us directly.

(Since we’re pretty sure I don’t actually get any of the asks in my inbox. A bloo bloo bloo tumblr why do you hate teamwork?) 

So that was our bad. Luckily, we aren’t actually in business yet so better now than later! Speaking of later, we’ll be officially open and accepting applications after a lot of off site advertising on November 15th.

We’ll probably be done preparing before then, but allowing ourselves a little extra time to make sure everything goes smoothly is the idea here.

• What is [Blank]stuck, anyway? I don’t get you crazy people!

[Blank]stuck is a mass AU Homestuck roleplay session! Once started, it will take place from around the beginning of the kids’ and trolls’ interactions with each other and move almost exclusively into post-Scratch territory once several interactions and scenarios take place as a setup! The idea is to pretty much take all the liberties we possibly can with established canon. (ex. Everyone is alive.) It will be highly based on suggestions from members for maximum creativity and fun! You heard me! FUN!

• Members? What members?

That’s the best part! By members, we mean YOU! If you’re interested in going on this great adventure with us, head on over to the application page and apply! We’ll select applicants based on roleplaying ability and general availability. Each applicant will only be allowed one character for fairness, but applying for more than one will greatly increase your chance of being selected. Don’t be shy! We’re very nice people and will never insult or belittle you for trying. Anyway, speaking of characters…

• Karkat and Terezi are already taken? That’s not fair!

Yes, Pepper and I have already made our choices, and they just happened to be two very popular characters. I know it doesn’t seem fair, but we wouldn’t have taken them if we didn’t consider them to be, respectively, our best characters. But every single other character is still available, so don’t worry! If Pepper and I play at least two other characters each on a regular basis, I’m sure you do too!

• Wait! I still have another question! Who are you guys? Where did this idea come from? What is your deal?!

Calm down! All of the weird facts you could possibly ever want about Pepper and myself are over in the information bar, along with the application and rules. I hope to hear from all of you very soon so we can get started!
